Heather Pederson is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, holds a Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from Bethel University San Diego, and co-owns a private practice in San Diego, Heather Pederson Therapy. For over a decade, she has pursued advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families, thoughtfully integrating diverse considerations including culture, spirituality, neurodiversity, sexuality, and gender into her therapeutic care. Heather possesses extensive experience guiding people through complex relationship dynamics, high conflict issues, addiction recovery, complex trauma, relationship betrayals, spiritual abuse, anxiety, depression, military-related challenges, and many other areas where individuals often benefit from professional guidance.
She also enjoys collaborating with local organizations to present or facilitate discussions on topics such as addiction, healthy relationships, boundaries, codependency, mindfulness, attachment, the Enneagram, and sex and intimacy. Heather has provided clinical leadership and supervision, including roles as Assistant Clinical Director, Program Coordinator, and AAMFT Supervisor, in private practice, non-profit, and Intensive Outpatient settings.
She is delighted to join the Monima Wellness Team, supporting women-identifying individuals on their healing journeys. In her free time, she enjoys backpacking, camping, dancing, discovering local food and music, reading sci-fi/fantasy, and contributing to local environmental and sustainability initiatives.
