Women’s mental health doesn’t follow a single template, and the care that supports it shouldn’t either. On a recent episode of The Localist SD, Monima Wellness Center Clinical Director and Co-founder Kat Grassetti, LCSW, spoke with host Ashley Jacobs about what trauma-focused care for women actually looks like in practice. From the somatic and holistic modalities that help regulate the nervous system, to the restorative philosophy that positions clients as the experts in their own healing.

“We never live the same day in the same body. So we are constantly in transition and cycles. And so when we’re thinking about women’s healthcare in particular, there is not a really set model for what we need.”

— Kat Grassetti, LCSW

Kat also discussed how acupuncture, Reiki, yoga, and sound healing are woven into daily programming, why trauma-focused care addresses the whole person rather than symptoms in isolation, and how Monima’s partnered housing through Ohana Recovery Residences supports clients through longer stays in care.
