We’re excited to share that Dr. Rose Schlaff, Doctor of Physical Therapy at Monima Wellness Center in San Diego, has been invited to speak at the 23rd International Hawai’i Summit in Honolulu this March.

Hosted by the Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma (IVAT), this annual gathering brings together professionals from around the world to address the prevention, assessment, and treatment of trauma across the lifespan. This year’s theme, “Collective Healing and Resilience: Culture, Connection, and Care,” reflects a growing recognition that healing happens not just individually, but within community and relationship.
Dr. Rose will present “Trauma, Intimacy, and Aging: Restoring Sexual Resilience and Connection Across the Lifespan” on Tuesday, March 3rd. Her 90-minute session will explore the intersection of trauma recovery, intimacy, and sexual health—topics that are often overlooked in traditional treatment settings but deeply connected to whole-person healing.
At Monima, Dr. Rose leads groups that support women in reconnecting with their bodies and nervous systems as part of the healing process. Her expertise in trauma-informed pelvic and sexual health brings a unique and valuable perspective to our holistic treatment approach.
We’re proud to have clinicians like Dr. Rose on our team who are contributing to important conversations in the trauma treatment field—and who bring that same depth of knowledge and care to the women in our programs every day.
Congratulations, Dr. Rose!
