Alchohol Rehab for Women in San Diego

Alcohol Rehab for Women in San Diego - Women’s Outpatient PHP & IOP

Alcohol use affects women differently, biologically, psychologically, and socially. At Monima Wellness Center, our women-centered alcohol rehab programs provide specialized support that meets these unique needs. Our outpatient PHP and IOP programs in San Diego combine evidence-based treatment, holistic healing, and trauma-informed care to support your recovery on every level—mind, body, and spirit.

Why Women-Focused Alcohol Treatment Matters

Alcohol misuse and alcohol use disorder often show up differently in women than in men. Research highlights several gender-specific challenges, including:

  • Faster progression from casual use to dependence
  • Stronger biological responses to alcohol
  • Higher rates of co-occurring anxiety, depression, trauma, and PTSD
  • Relationship, caregiving, and societal pressures that complicate recovery
  • Increased shame barriers and lower likelihood of seeking help early

A gender-specific program creates a safe, supportive space where you can openly explore these experiences, understand the roots of your drinking, and learn healthier coping skills without judgment.

Alcohol Rehab Recovery Programs in San Diego

Monima offers two outpatient alcohol rehab options designed specifically for women. Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) provide distinct levels of care, ensuring each client receives the right amount of structure and support for her individual recovery needs.

The Difference Between IOP and PHP

IOP is designed for women who need more support than weekly therapy but still want to maintain flexibility. IOP offers structure, skill building, and community while you continue working or caring for family.

PHP is appropriate for women whose alcohol use has begun to interfere with daily life, emotional stability, relationships, or work. Most clients pause school or employment to fully focus on healing while still returning home in the evenings.

Alcohol Rehab Outpatient Program in San Diego

Monima’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) was created for women seeking part-time, structured support for alcohol use. IOP is ideal for women who need more than weekly therapy or who are transitioning from a higher level of care—such as PHP or residential treatment—back into daily life. Clients in our women’s IOP for alcohol rehab participate in 9–15 hours of weekly therapeutic engagement, combining evidence-based treatment with holistic healing to support sustained recovery.

Alcohol Rehab Partial Hospitalization Program in San Diego

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) is the highest level of outpatient care we offer. PHP is best suited for women whose alcohol use has begun to disrupt daily life, emotional stability, or functioning despite previous therapy or medication support. Many clients step away from work, school, or other responsibilities to fully focus on their healing. During PHP, women participate in individual and group therapy for up to six hours a day, five days a week, receiving the intensive support needed to stabilize, reset, and begin recovering with clarity and structure.

Monima has partnered with Ohana Recovery Residences in San Diego, California, to provide optional safe housing for women enrolled in Monima Wellness outpatient programs. Women who stay at Ohana experience an immersive, supportive recovery environment with a like-minded female community.
